Homestay in Coorg

“And this is exactly why we drag you along , in every trip of ours..” my  mom started .   As  right as she was , at that moment   my mind wandered  through the lush  green cover that surrounded  us from all sides , as we spiralled  upwards the Western ghats.  Coorg  doesn’t fall in the regular tourist’s travel  itinerary ,  and I simply cannot imagine why.

Its  a true-blue traveller’s  paradise with something that caters to every  kinds of tourists and travelers , be it  a zillion  trek routes with resplendent waterfalls and  forests, wildlife sanctuaries  , forest camps  to a plethora   of temples,  churches , mosque, monastery for the  ones seeking spiritual   relevance.  City slickers   looking for a quick getaway   can  easily reach the distict headquarters of Coorg( otherwise known as Kodagu) , Madikeri which   is 255kms from Bangalore , can be reached by Air ( 135km  from Mangalore), rail (nearest station Mysore 120km).

Once you reach Madikeri,  its better to  handpick  the trek routes  which are on offer.Located 35kms from Madikeri , is the second highest peak of Karnataka, Thadiandamol. Bit  tough  for  even the seasoned trekkers , once you reach the   top , just soak in the  scintillating scenics, catch your  breath,  head to the Nalaknad  palace through the  serpentine  path, where they maintain a bee population. The Pushpagiri  trek  takes  you atop Kumara Parvatha  amidst  dense forests.
